Adult Day Care ProgramThe Caring Place adult day care center is located at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Waukesha. Its purpose is to enrich the lives of older adults, provide them with supportive health and social services, and give respite and assistance to families and caregivers. The Caring Place emphasizes stimulating, life-enhancing activity and sociability. Individual abilities and interests are an important consideration in daily programming. Adult daycare is an affordable option providing services that allow adults to remain at home, thereby avoiding costly nursing home placement. The daycare environment is safe and nurturing. It provides education, support and respite for families who provide caregiving for loved ones.
EligibilityThe Program serves adults 50 years of age and older with physical disabilities and/or moderate mental impairments. It is nondenominational and open to anyone in need. Applicants are carefully evaluated to determine their compatibility with the program.StaffA team of 14 health professionals is responsible for the daily operation of The Caring Place. The staff's competence and commitment to the program enable the center to live up to its name - it is a "caring place."
The Caring Place is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5 pm. Participants may attend one or more days each week.
